detroitpins2003 and we add your points. ohh and tell us which cafe.| Acapulco, Mexico | |
| Amsterdam, Netherlands | |
| Ankara, Turkey | |
| Athens, Greece | |
| Atlanta, GA | Street parking is virtually non-existent. Several public parking decks within a block or two of the cafe. MARTA (subway) stop entrance about half a block from the cafe. |
| Atlantic City, NJ | Hotel parking deck |
| Austin, TX | Nearby public decks or lots |
| Bahrain, Bahrain | |
| Bali, Indonesia | If you are not staying at the HRH then a taxi would be best. Be clear on what it will cost before using the taxi. The Cafe is on the same property as the hotel. Walking distance is similar to walking across the parking lot at HRH -Las Vegas to the cafe there. |
| Bali - Hotel, Indonesia | You will almost certainly have taken a taxi from the airport unless you have someone there who is picking you up. |
| Baltimore, MD | Congested tourist area parking-several public lots and decks nearby |
| Bangkok, Thailand | You won't be driving there. Grab a tuk-tuk or a taxi and enjoy the ride. Negotiate the price of the fare first. Most of them, if not all, know where Siam Square is. Going back to the hotel is another story. Whether using a taxi or a tuk-tuk it is useful to have a map card (provided by the hotel) to show the driver when you are ready to go back to your hotel. |
| Barcelona, Spain | |
| Beijing, China | |
| Beirut, Lebanon | |
| Berlin, Germany | |
| Birmingham, England | The cafe is located at the south end of Broard street, there is a multi story car park at the back 30 pence an hour but parking after 6pm on the street at the back is free. There are loads of hotels on Broard street all within walking distance even for me who drives everywhere, Parking locations |
| Bogota, Colombia | |
| Boston, MA | Can you say one way streets? Driving in this city is to be avoided if possible. Excellent public transportation system. There are lots near the cafe but you better get there way early to find one with a spot. |
| Bristol, England | Lots of pay and display parking near the cafe and a multi story 5 minutes walk away but the height restriction is quite low. |
| Buenos Aires, Argentina |
| Cabo San Lucas, Mexico | |
| Cairo, Egypt | |
| Cancun, Mexico | |
| Caracas, Venezuela | |
| Cardiff, Wales | The cafe is 3 minutes walk from the train station, there is the car park at the station quite expensive and also a multi story near there also but I don't know the prices for there. For quick stops there is a loading/taxi bay across the road from the cafe and you should be ok for 5 minutes (not my fault if you get booked). Parking Locations |
| Catania, Italy | |
| Cayman Islands, Cayman Islands | |
| Chicago, IL | The cafe is located in the River North section of the downtown area, it has a valet parking area on the cafe property for $8 which may sound like alot but this price is actually pretty good compared to what the surrounding parking garages charge. There are also tons of taxi's you could take to the cafe and certain hotels are within walking distance. |
| Chicago Hotel, IL | The hotel is not far from the cafe as I have walked back and forth between the 2 many times before but now with the recent changes there is really not much to see. If your walking along Michigan Ave anyway to visit other things and you happen to run into the hotel fine but my tip for this place would be to not make a special trip because you will most likely be disappointed with it compared to other Hard Rock Hotels |
| Cleveland, OH | You may get lucky and snag one of the metered surface spaces located on three sides of the Tower City complex. If not, use the Tower City Center parking lot. It is located under the complex off of West Huron (the street with the huge guitar sign). The entrance is just south of the cafe on Huron, just before the intersection in front of the "Q" Arena and Jacob's field. The cafe will validate your parking ticket after 6:00 PM. Before 6:00 PM, you can get your parking ticket validated at the Tower City retail customer service counter if you spend $25.00 or more in the center mall (includes the HRC). Usually, the parking is free to $2.00 with the validation. The cafe is on elevator level "M3". There is also a merchandise counter on "M2", on the upper food court end of the main mall.
From the airport you can take the RTA light rail rapid train directly to the Tower City station. Exit and work your way up three levels to the cafe. The train trip is 20 to 30 minutes or so and costs $1.75 one way. You get the train at the airport by going down a level from baggage claim. The trains run about every 15 minutes. |
| Cologne, Germany | There is a direct link between the Airport and the train station cost is about €2 and takes 20 minutes. The cafe is 5-10 minute walk from the station the walk out of the station will take longer it is huge. head around the Dom (Cathedral) and walk down one of the streets on the other side of it heading in the same direction the cafe will be on the street that you cross. There is a small Strudel restaurant a few doors down from the cafe which is very nice. and a fantastic steak house on the square at the bottom of the street to the cafe. |
| Copenhagen, Denmark | |
| Cozumel, Mexico |
| Dallas, TX | The cafe has its own parking lot but it is not particularly large |
| Denver, CO | Take a cab or walk from your hotel. Pricy public parking |
| Destin, FL | Enormous mall parking lot |
| Detroit, MI | On Woodward Ave. two blocks south of Coamerica Park some metered street parking FREE after 6pm and weekends. Parking structure behind the complex with validated parking - see staff |
| Dubai, United Arab Emirates | The cafe is a fair way out from everywhere, grab a cab and enjoy the ride, I am sure that the rate the city is growing the cafe will be in the centre pretty soon. |
| Dublin, Ireland | The cafe is in the temple bar area of Dublin, just on
the south side of the river. There are loads of hotels in the area but
not that cheap. It is a 25 minute taxi from the airport and a 10 minute
walk from the train station. There is a multi-storey car park across the
road from the cafe.
I've been again so more details, Taxi to or from the airport is €17-18, the airport bus which departs from O'Connell street (5 mins from the cafe) is €5 and takes about 30-40 minutes. When it arrives in the city centre it goes along the south bank of the river so ask to get of there to save walking. The Bus we used was number 747 and they run every 10 minutes. |
| Edinburgh, Scotland | The street with the cafe on is all pay and display parking, drive round a few times and you will find a spot. Parking on Sundays is free but finding a spot can take a while. |
| Foxwoods, CT | The cafe is located on Route 2, about 1/2 mile west
of Rt. 214 and 2 miles east of Route 164. Free parking in the Rainmaker Casino garage. Take the elevator down to the Casino level. If you're using web-based directions, the official address is 39 Norwich Westerly Rd, Ledyard CT 06339 |
| Fukuoka, Japan | Large parking lot but you will most likely be taking a cab to the cafe |
| Gatlinburg, TN | Municipal Parking Deck directly across the street from the cafe. Max rate is about $6 for all day. Although across the street I would recommend walking to the intersection and using the crosswalk when crossing this very busy wide street. Lots of crazy tourists behind the wheels. |
| Gran Canaria | |
| Gothenburg, Sweden | The Cafe is a 10 minute walk from the Train Station, there is a Best western hotel a few doors away from the cafe, the Lobby didn't look to bad. |
| Guadalajara, Mexico | |
| Guam, GU | Parking deck in mall across the street from the hotel the cafe is located in. |
| Hollywood, CA | The Cafe is part of the Universal City walk, parking
for UCW is $10 for the day, but we were going to Universal anyway. I
have heard about an unloading/drop off area for UCW but I don't know any
more. Enter through the Universal City Drive street entrance. The cafe is located on this side of the property, do not enter from the main entrance off of Lankershim. That is the opposite side of where the cafe is. If you are staying to eat you can park in any of the parking structures. But if you are just going in and out to buy something and take some quick pictures, just as you reach the top of the hill and come back around the turnaround, you will find a 15 minute parking area where you can park for free. But be aware of your time, as they do ticket in this area. But its still free and great if you're just stopping by real quick. |
| Hollywood, FL | Massive parking lot. Pack your lunch if walking in from the outer edges or grab a ride on one of the bicycle taxis ($5). |
| Hollywood, FL Hotel | |
| Hong Kong, China | |
| Hong Kong - The Peak, China | Store only, no cafe there. The Peak, China -large parking deck but you really should have ridden the Peak Tram to get there. Alternatively, you can take a bus from the Hong Kong Star Ferry terminal and see that part of the city and enjoy the scenery as the bus winds its way up the side of the mountain. Great public transportation system there! |
| Honolulu, HI | Reasonably adequate parking adjacent to the cafe |
| Houston, TX | You might get lucky and catch a metered sport along the street but more likely you will want to use the underground parking area across the street from the cafe |
| Hurghada, Egypt |
| Key West, FL | Parking? What Parking? You should be walking anyway. |
| Kona, HI | Seemingly ample parking area behind the Cafe |
| Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia | |
| Kuwait, Kuwait |
| La Jolla, CA | Loads of free parking in the streets around this one, but you only get 2 hours I think. |
| Lake Tahoe, NV | Plenty of parking in the hotel deck and lot |
| Las Vegas, NV | The Cafe has a car park as does the Hard rock Hotel which are both free |
| Las Vegas Hotel, NV | Park outside the Hotel it was free |
| Leeds, England | There are loads of multi story car parks near the cafe, the Merrion centre and St johns just across the road from the cafe, sometimes they are full but the wait time is never too long. On Sundays the parking in the streets around the cafe (normally pay and display) is free. also a trick I use is to park in the loading zone just round the corner from the cafe for 20 minutes free parking. Parking Locations |
| Lisbon, Portugal | |
| London, England | Loads of free parking at weekends and in the evening on the streets round the cafe. Alternatively the parking meters are £1 for 20 minutes. try the streets on the opposite corner of Hyde park corner if the streets are busy. Local Tube station is Hyde Park corner. |
| Los Angeles, CA | We parked at the Beverly centre car park are we were going shopping, I'm sure a local will know more. |
| Louisville, KY | If you plan on visiting the Louisville Cafe at Fourth Street Live! in downtown it is always best to go after work hours as there is free parking in the garage. If you plan to attend during a concert be ready to pay for parking in all the neighboring parking lots and garages. The Fourth Street Live! parking garage is free weekdays after 6pm and all day on the weekends. The Fourth Street Live! parking garage is located off Fifth Street between Muhammad Ali Boulevard and Liberty just past the Cathedral. Parking is also offered at the Starks garage, Seelbach garage, Hyatt/Convention Center garage and at the Cowger garage at Fourth and Market Street for a price. Valet Parking is offered every Friday and Saturday evening for only $7 at the corner of Muhammad Ali Blvd and Fourth Street. Operating hours are from 6 pm until 4 am. |
| Madrid, Spain | |
| Makati, Philippines | |
| Malta, Malta | |
| Manchester, England | The cafe is within easy walk of Manchester Victoria train station, where there is plenty of parking to, £5 for all day isn't the cheapest but seeing as it is city centre it isn't too bad. there is also a pay and display for shorter stays but it is quite expensive. At night there are a few on street spots that are free after 6pm. Also don't forget the Casino is on the opposite corner of the printworks building but doesn't open till after 4pm. Parking Locations |
| Maui, HI | Ample parking in the shopping center lot |
| Melbourne, Australia | The cafe is located at the top end of Bourke Street
opposite the State Parliament Building. It is within walking distance to all of the city's theatre's and Melbourne's central business district . The FREE tourist tram stops right out side the door . The Cafe is actually located on the ground floor of one of Melbourne's most prestigious Hotels , The Windsor. There is a multi level car park almost next door . City trams/ trolleys will take you to all parts of the city and all train stations . All major sports stadiums , MCG, Melbourne Tennis Centre and the Telstra dome are with in walking distance as is the Botanic Gardens and Yarra River. South Bank and the Crown Casino are with in twenty minutes walking or a Tram ride away. |
| Memphis, TN | Leave your car at your hotel if you are just a few blocks from Beale St. If you must drive there is a huge municipal parking deck about a block from Beale St. |
| Mexico City, Mexico | |
| Miami, FL | Mall parking deck. Have a nice walk to the cafe. |
| Minneapolis, MN | |
| Montreal, Canada | |
| Moscow, Russia | |
| Munich, Germany | The Cafe is right across the "Hofbraeuhaus". It's in the heart of Munich. Lot's of small old streets (most likely one-way) you can easily get lost in. You can call yourself lucky if you find a parking spot close to the cafe! Park in the outskirts and use the subway. It's less stressful and you can enjoy the beautiful city more !!! |
| Myrtle Beach, SC | Spacious parking lot |
| Nagoya, Japan | |
| Nashville, TN | You might luck out and get a metered street sport or you can use one of several parking decks within a couple of blocks of the cafe. |
| Nassau, Bahamas | |
| New Orleans, LA | Open on a limited basis during the day as the city continues to recover from the devastation of Katrina. It is best to leave your car at home but if you must drive it is best to leave your car at the hotel and walk to the cafe if nearby. Hotel parking rates are exorbitant and public parking rates are worse. |
| New York - Times Square, NY | Here is the BASIC info for parking near the NYC Times
Square cafe. Most of the street parking anywhere near Times Square is "commercial" only.... if at all. So make sure you READ THE SIGNS or you may have a ticket, or worse, your car is towed away. (see below about FREE Sunday parking) On 43rd street between 7th ave and 8th ave (43rd street goes east to west) there is a parking garage on the right and the following info is from the corp/cafe page about the garage: http://www.hardrock.com/locations/cafes/Cafes.aspx?Lc=NEWY Advanced Parking Systems 249 W 43rd St (between Broadway and 8th) $17.00 for 3 hours with validation stamp (their number is 212-840-7549) Other nearby garages are listed here on Mapquest You can also park a few blocks further away on 42nd street and Dyer (between 9th and 10th ave) Weekdays after 4pm and On Sundays it is $14 for up to 12 hours... go 1 minute longer and it will cost $30. I am not sure about Saturdays.. but their number is 212-279-5213 Ok, now for the FREE Sunday parking info...... a little North of Times Square (and probably South too... and definitely West) there are "COMMERCIAL ONLY" areas that are posted "except Sunday"... which means you can park there on Sundays.... You can take the subway to 42nd street (a block from the cafe) or there is a bus route that goes south on Broadway.... but you need a MTA Metro pass. You can buy them in any Subway station. It is $2 per trip. Ask about specials for the Metro pass |
| Niagara Falls Canada, Canada | Casino parking deck |
| Niagara Falls USA, NY | Large public parking lot but prone to be full of cars, RVs, and buses |
| Nottingham, England | Currently there are lots of road works going on round the cafe and getting there is a nightmare, there are some disabled/handicapped spaces around the cafe and 2 loading zones for the quick in and out visits. There was a multi-storey car park 5 minutes away but that has been knocked down and the 1 way system has been changed so be very careful when driving to the cafe or you could end up in the path of oncoming traffic. The closest carpark is now in the shopping centre north east of the cafe on the central ring road. Parking Locations |
| Orlando, FL | Part of Universal City Walk in Florida, parking is probably $10, I don't know of any tricks with this one? can you not park at the hotel? or take a shuttle bus from your hotel if available. All day parking available in Universal Studios deck. Part of that day will be spent walking from the deck and then back to it when you are rather tired. The Hotel, which is closer to the cafe than the deck, will let you park in their lot but their rates are high. |

| Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt | Located at the bottom end of Marina Street in Naama
Bay. Taxis drop visitors at the junction of Marina Street and Peace
Road, about a 200 yard walk down to the HRC. It's almost impossible to
get dropped closer due to heightened security following the Summer '05
bombings. The Cafe gets very busy at nights, but is quiet at lunchtimes.
Merchandise availability is variable, due to awkward local customs officials. |

(Who knew you could get oxycontin flavored ice cream?) Taking a taxi is a VERY good idea. I didn't stop too long at this cafe, but from the border we got a cab $5 each way and the taxi waited for us for no extra charge. |
| Tokyo - Roppongi, Japan | You won't be driving here. The cafe is about 3 blocks from the subway stop. Turn right when you see the gorilla on the side of the building. |
